Spotlight Projects: Linda Mar, Pacifica, CA Constructing an addition to a home is a wonderful opportunity to plan outdoor open spaces for entertaining and incorporate colorful low-maintenance landscaping into your garden. This Linda Mar home underwent a major renovation and provided a perfect opportunity to create outdoor living spaces in the rear yard to maximize views of the Pacific Ocean. Our back yard design created a series of spaces including lawn area, deck, and flagstone patio to take advantage of spectacular views of the ocean. We introduced a low rock seating wall to provide seating and frame ocean views. We also created a multi-tiered firepit, built into a slope that provides a fun seating and conversation area on those cool summer nights. We removed the front yard lawn of this house to create a colorful low-maintenance yard composed of grasses, shrubs and ground cover. <<
